Seriously, I've seen a whole bunch of fanart with Pan cosplaying as Sailor Saturn. Why not the reverse? I think it can work equally as well, so here we go!

Sure, Hotaru was originally frail, but her second life presumably left her with a healthy body! And she was infinitely more useful in her Universe than Pan was hers!

And yet, I still sorta liked Pan in the beginning. Liked her mother more, but whatever.

But nonetheless, I'm glad. This is my first Hotaru Tomoe fanart, and I love how it turned out. After Lady Kayura from Ronin Warriors, she was practically my biggest fictional crush as a child, and one of the few reasons I barely hung onto Sailor Moon aside from its girlishness and cheese. (That, and Rei... I thought she was a cool pyro shinto girl.)

Now this is starting to make me wonder what it would be like if Hotaru started out with a healthy body to begin with and can unleash epic Saturn-based ki blasts. That would rule...

Heh, Hotaru & Pan- two factors that connect the biggest names in North American Anime's Advent Mainstream. Not just because they look alike, but they both voiced by Yuko Minaguchi in Japan. After her performance as Tsurara Shirayuki in Rosario + Vampire Capu2, I think I'm heading into borderline fanboy teritory with her.

I think the closest thing to a fusion of Hotaru and Pan that she actually voiced would be Farah Oersted from ToE. Hotaru is girly, while Pan TRIES to be a badass. Farah IS a girly badass, being more like Pan, but without her fatal flaws as a character. And that is why I requested this [link] fanart of her from .

Maybe I should draw Hotaru in a qipao for my next fanart of her?

Note: "Breaded Firefly" is a pun dealing with both names in translation. "Pan" is bread and "Hotaru" is firefly, so in a way, with Hotaru dressing up like Pan, she becomes a "Breaded Firefly". That doesn't sound very appetizing to me.
